According to the department’s document issued on December 12, the incident was partly the fault of the Mrs. World 2013’s organizing board, who sent a letter of apology to the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism right after the pageant to explain that the misspelling was unexpected and they didn’t mean to insult anyone.
Moreover, the Performing Arts Department identified that the incident was also caused by the carelessness of contestant Trần Thị Quỳnh and CIAT, the company that sent Quỳnh to the contest.
The company is required to seriously perceived the problem and consider it a lesson to learn from.
For her part, Quỳnh, who is mentioned in the document as:
“She had experiences attending pageants, but was careless at Mrs. World 2013 and made mistake affecting the image of Việt Nam and its people”
is also requested to continue practicing communication skills, as well as equip herself with more knowledge on culture and society.
Earlier, Trần Thị Quỳnh had also sent a letter of apology to the culture ministry and the public, asking for forgiveness on her mistake and expressing she was careless due to the dense schedule of the contest.
